The best bet is to go with our standard specifications. However, if you have specific requirements, here are some suggestions to keep in mind when designing your quilt. These are just suggestions - not rules. It all depends on the look and function your going for:
See our color chart. If you want a color that is not on the color chart, you may purchase your own fabric. Refer to the following question.
Absolutely - the more personal elements you put into the quilt, the more special it is to you. We ask that you pre-wash the fabric and specify in your design sheet that you will be supplying your own fabric. This will decrease the final quilt price because you are purchasing the fabric for us. Some great places to buy fabric on-line is Bear Paw Quilting and JO Fabric.
Yes, just specify that in your design sheet.
Specify on your design sheet how many photo (or any kind of image) squares you want. The maximum size of the photo for each square is 8"X10", however, that one 8"X10" could contain a collage of several small pictures. When you order your quilt, e-mail your pictures to us or save them on a disk and send the disk to us with your novelty items. Remember, the quality of the final picture on the quilt depends on the quality of the picture you send us. Do not reduce the size or condense your digital photos.
If you do not have digital photos, check with where you get your pictures developed to see if they can digitize your photos. If that is not an option, then send us your pictures and we can scan them. However, keep in mind that scanned images are inferior in quality to original digital images.
You can machine wash your quilt as long as all of your novelty elements are machine washable and pre-washed before you sent them to me. Wash your quilt on gentle cycle in cold water and mild detergent. Use low heat in the dryer.
Your quilt was made with the utmost care and skill and will not fall apart with normal wear. But let's face it, thread breaks when it's being pulled this way and that. If this happens I'll be glad to repair it free of charge (except shipping cost). If stitching comes apart due to my negligence I will repair it free of charge and reimburse you for shipping. However, if your quilt is in pieces because your dog got hold of it I may not be able to fix it. Either which way, contact me so that we can discuss your situation and make arrangements.
No, so I recommend that you not use it for infant or children's bedding.
